Adult Education

The Beachell Center is partnering with the Community College of Philadelphia to offer a full range of adult education programs. The College offers both its adult basic education and high school equivalency preparation programs three different ways: online; at the College’s West Philadelphia campus; and at Drexel’s Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships. Faculty-lead instruction for both adult education programs will support learners who are not yet prepared to enroll in high school level classes and those who need support to obtain their high school equivalency (e.g. HiSET, GED). This dual-pronged adult education programming will leverage the Dual Admissions Transfer Partnership between CCP and Drexel so a student can complete their high school equivalency and associate’s degree at the College and pursue a bachelor’s degree at Drexel. Working together, this partnership between the Community College of Philadelphia and Drexel University deepens their long-standing commitment to advancing economic opportunity for Philadelphia residents, including members of the West and Southwest communities.

The adult education program are free of charge to residents, and are funded through the generous support of the College and private gifts from Drexel.
